Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 9, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how FeliciaSoft SIA collects, uses, stores, and shares your personal data when you use the GreetApp mobile app or the greetapp.eu website, and explains your rights under GDPR and Latvian data protection law.
1. Who we are (Data Controller)
The data controller responsible for your personal data is:
FeliciaSoft SIA
Reģ. Nr. 40203767672
Email: hello (at) greetapp.eu
We aim to respond to all queries within 5 business days.
2. Definitions
- Account: A unique account created for you to sync your data across devices.
- App: The GreetApp mobile application.
- Company: FeliciaSoft SIA, the operator of GreetApp, acting as data controller.
- Device: Any device used to access the Service (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
- Event Data: Birthdays, anniversaries, namedays, and custom dates you add to your calendar, whether entered manually or imported from your device's contacts or calendar.
- Personal Data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.
- Service: The GreetApp application and all features within it.
- Sign-In Provider: Google (Android) or Apple (iOS), used for optional authentication.
- Usage Data: Data collected automatically through your use of the Service.
- You: The individual accessing or using the Service.
3. Data we collect
3.1 — Data you provide directly
- Account information: GreetApp works fully without an account. If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple to back up and sync across devices, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from that provider, subject to your settings with them.
- Event Data: The birthdays, anniversaries, namedays, and custom events and dates you create, including any names and dates imported from your device's contacts or calendar when you explicitly choose to import them. This data may include personal data about other people (e.g. a friend's birthday) that you provide to the App.
- Communications: If you contact us for support or feedback via the in-app Feedback button or by email, we collect the content of your message and your contact details.
3.2 — Usage data (collected automatically)
- Device information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.
- App interaction data: Features used, screens visited, time and duration of sessions, and actions taken within the App (via Firebase Analytics).
- Log data: IP address, crash reports, and diagnostic data (via Firebase Crashlytics).
3.3 — Data we do not collect
We do not collect payment or financial data. We do not access your photos, microphone, or precise location. We only read the name and date fields of contacts you explicitly choose to import as birthdays — we do not access or store any other contact details (phone numbers, addresses, etc.), and we do not access your device calendar beyond the specific events you choose to import.
4. How and why we use your data
Under GDPR Article 6, we must have a lawful basis for each type of processing:
| Purpose | Legal basis |
|---|---|
| Storing and displaying your calendar events | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Syncing your data across devices when you sign in | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Sending local reminder notifications for upcoming events | Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Importing birthdays from your contacts or device calendar | Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — you explicitly trigger each import |
| Identifying and fixing technical errors (crash reports) | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Analysing app usage (Firebase Analytics) | See note below |
| Operating and securing this website (greetapp.eu) | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
| Complying with legal obligations | Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) |
| Business transfers (merger, acquisition) | Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) |
Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that those interests are not overridden by your rights. You may object at any time (see Section 8). Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
Note on usage analytics: Firebase Analytics is currently enabled by default for all users. We are reviewing whether this processing should rely on your consent rather than legitimate interests under applicable e-privacy law, and we are working on an in-app control to let you disable it directly. Until that control ships, you can limit related identifiers through your device's own privacy settings (e.g. on Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete advertising ID / Opt out of Ads personalization).
5. Sign-in providers
If you choose to sign in using Google or Apple, those providers share limited profile information with us. The data shared depends on your privacy settings with them. Your use of those services is governed by their own policies:
- Google: policies.google.com/privacy
- Apple: apple.com/legal/privacy
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these providers.
6. Third-party service providers
We use the following third-party services to operate and improve the App and this website. These providers act as data processors and are contractually bound to process your data only on our instructions.
For the App — Firebase (Google LLC)
Used for: authentication, cloud data sync (Firestore), crash reporting (Crashlytics), remote configuration, and aggregated usage analytics.
firebase.google.com/support/privacy
For this website (greetapp.eu) — Cloudflare, Inc.
greetapp.eu is served through Cloudflare's content delivery network. Cloudflare processes standard request data (IP address, requested page, browser user agent) for security and performance, and may host our cookieless web analytics if we enable it. Cloudflare Web Analytics does not use cookies or persistent device identifiers to track you.

7. Sharing your personal data
We do not sell your personal data. We may share your data only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: With the processor listed in Section 6, solely to operate and maintain the Service.
- Legal requirements: If required by law, court order, or a request from a competent public authority.
- Protection of rights: Where necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Company, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset sale. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
- With your consent: For any other purpose, with your explicit prior consent.

10. International data transfers
Your personal data may be processed outside Latvia or the EEA, including in the United States, by our service provider Google LLC / Firebase. Where data is transferred outside the EEA, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place as required by GDPR Chapter V, including Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) approved by the European Commission and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where applicable. You can obtain further information about these safeguards by contacting us at hello (at) greetapp.eu.
11. App permissions
The App may request the following device permissions. Each is requested only when a relevant feature is used.
🔔 Notifications
To send you reminders about upcoming birthdays, namedays, anniversaries and holidays. You can disable these in your device settings at any time.
👤 Contacts
To let you import birthdays from your device's contacts, only when you explicitly choose to. We read only names and birthday dates from the contacts you select.
📅 Calendar
To let you import birthday events from your device calendar, only when you explicitly choose to. We do not read or store your full calendar contents.
You may revoke any permission at any time through your device settings. Revoking a permission may limit certain features of the App.
12. Data accuracy
Nameday and public holiday calendars are compiled from publicly available sources and may contain inaccuracies or omissions, or may not reflect the most recent official changes for a given country. We make reasonable efforts to keep this data accurate but do not guarantee it, and recommend confirming dates that matter for official or legal purposes with an authoritative local source.
13. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you are between 13 and 16 years of age, parental or guardian consent is required before using the Service, consistent with GDPR Article 8.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data without parental consent, please contact us at hello (at) greetapp.eu and we will promptly delete that information.
14. Security
We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, destruction, or alteration — including encrypted data transmission (TLS/HTTPS), access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure via Firebase.
No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure. In the event of a personal data breach likely to result in a high risk to your rights, we will notify you without undue delay in accordance with GDPR Article 34.
15. Links to other websites
The App may contain links to third-party websites or services not operated by us, such as Google Play. We have no control over and accept no responsibility for the content or privacy practices of those sites.
16. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you via a prominent in-app notice and/or email at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
The "Last updated" date at the top of this document will always reflect the most recent revision. Previous versions are available on request.
17. Contact us
