Help with GreetApp on Android and iOS

Contact us

hello (at) greetapp.eu

We aim to respond to every enquiry within 5 business days.

The quickest route is the Feedback button in the app's Settings — it opens an email with your app version and device details already filled in, which helps us reproduce any problem.

When writing to us directly, please include your device model, operating system version and the GreetApp version shown at the bottom of Settings.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account?

No. GreetApp works fully without an account — your events are stored on your device and never leave it unless you choose to sign in. Signing in with Google or Apple is only needed to back up your data and sync it across devices.

I'm not receiving reminder notifications

  • Open Settings in the app and check that Daily reminder is switched on and that notification permission has been granted. If permission is missing, Settings shows an error you can tap to grant it.
  • Check Notify about — reminders are only sent for the event types you have selected (name days, public holidays, your own events).
  • On Android, some manufacturers aggressively restrict background apps. If Settings shows a notification reliability warning, follow its instructions to exempt GreetApp from battery optimisation.
  • Reminders are delivered at the time set under Notification time (08:00 by default).

How do I change when reminders arrive?

Go to Settings → Notification time. Under Upcoming reminder you can also be warned 1 day, 3 days, a week or a month before your own events.

How do name days work?

Pick a country in Settings → Selected calendars and GreetApp automatically tracks name days for everyone in your contacts with a matching name — no manual entry needed. You can enable several countries' calendars at once, which is handy if you live abroad or have family in more than one country.

Which countries have name day calendars?

Austria, the Czech Republic, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland. Public holiday calendars are available for those countries and also for the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the Netherlands and Portugal.

How do I import birthdays from my contacts?

Go to Settings → Import device events and choose Contacts or Calendar. GreetApp shows the birthdays and anniversaries it found; tick the ones you want and confirm. Only the name and date of the contacts you select are read — nothing else is accessed or stored.

A name day or public holiday is wrong or missing

Please tell us via the Feedback button or by email, including the country, the name or holiday, and the correct date. Calendar corrections are downloaded automatically — no app update is needed.

Does GreetApp work offline?

Yes. Once your calendars are downloaded, everything works without an internet connection. Signing in, syncing and downloading new calendars require a connection.

Does GreetApp send messages for me?

No. GreetApp reminds you and lets you share a wish through your own messaging apps (WhatsApp, SMS, email and so on). It never composes or sends anything on your behalf.

How do I delete my account and data?

Open Settings, tap your profile card, then Delete Account. This permanently removes your account and any synced data. If you never signed in, simply uninstalling the app removes all your data, since it is only stored on your device. You can also request deletion by email — see our Privacy policy for details.

Is GreetApp free?

Yes — free to use in full, with no ads.
